Understanding privacy statements

Just like your regular website, your career page, job posts and/or apply forms need a privacy statement too. It is different from the statement of your regular website which will be more general, whereas this one is more focused and specific to recruitment.

In this statement, you lay out how and why you handle & process the data of your applicants and visitors. The document is intended to inform the applicants and visitors of your career page, job posts and application forms about what personal data you collect, how you use this data and for which purposes.

Why adding a privacy statement matters

It is important to share a link to your privacy statement with every candidate. The statement will address your candidates and needs to include all the information that is required by Article 13 and Article 14 of the GDPR. Your privacy statement should be concise, understandable, transparent and easy to find.

Adding your privacy statement

  1. Via the sidebar on the left, click 'Settings'.

  2. Next, click on 'Privacy' in the sidebar.

  3. Scroll down to the Privacy statement section.

  4. Paste the URL of your privacy statement in the privacy statement text field.

  5. Click 'Save changes' to add your privacy statement.

Note: Avoid uploading PDFs or other files that require special software to open. Keep it simple and accessible by hosting it on a webpage. If you can't do that, services like Google Drive can help you create a publicly accessible document to link to.
