Connect a custom domain to your Homerun career page, so your career page will change to e.g. jobs.company.com instead of company.homerun.co.

Using a custom domain with a subdomain

  1. First, log in to the account of your domain provider and go to their settings. Ask a colleague to help you out with this, if it gets a little too technical

  2. Go to the DNS settings

  3. Add a CNAME record and choose a subdomain you want to use, e.g. jobs.company.com. Point it to proxy.homerun.co

  4. Log in to Homerun and click your profile in the top left corner and click Settings

  5. At the left, scroll down to Custom Domain, displayed under Advanced

  6. Fill in the subdomain you created, like jobs.company.com

  7. Click Save Changes. It can take 5 minutes before your changes are visible

Using a custom domain with a root domain

  1. First, log in to the account of your domain provider and go to their settings. Ask a colleague to help you out with this, if it gets a little too technical

  2. Go to the DNS settings

  3. Add a CNAME record for your custom domain, (like www.jobs-at-your-company.com). Point it to proxy.homerun.co

  4. Create a redirect for your custom domain (jobs-at-your-company.com) and point it to your custom domain, with the "www" added (www.jobs-at-your-company.com)

  5. Log in to Homerun and click your profile in the top left corner and click Settings

  6. At the left, scroll down to Custom Domain, displayed under Advanced

  7. Fill in the (sub)domain you created, like www.jobs-at-your-company.com

  8. Click Save Changes. It can take 5 minutes before your changes are visible

Your custom domain is all set! It can take up to 24 hours for the DNS settings to take effect.

Note: we currently only support custom domains with CNAME or A records that point to proxy.homerun.co

Note: if you use a custom domain and define a CAA record for your domain, then it needs to include Letsencrypt as a provider for our free certificates for custom domains to work.

My custom domain isn't working
When you make a DNS change, it takes time for the changes to take effect. We suggest waiting up to 24 hours for the DNS to be fully refreshed. Still not working? Check this CNAME Lookup tool. Fill in your (sub)domain, e.g. jobs.company.com and click 'CNAME Lookup'. If you installed your subdomain correctly, the following will appear:

  • Type: CNAME

  • Domain name: your (sub)domain, e.g. jobs.company.com

  • Canonical name: proxy.homerun.co

If the output is different, the DNS settings are not correct. Please check the steps above, again.

If the output is correct, but your custom domain isn't working, please send us a message, we'll help you out!
