Only the trial period has a limit on candidates and emails. The paid plans (Starter, Core, and Plus) offer unlimited candidates and emails.
Job slots (Homerun ATS)
Job slots represent the number of active jobs you can have on a specific plan in Homerun ATS. A job is considered active when its state is 'Public', 'Private', or 'Closed'. Draft and Archived jobs do not count as active jobs. When you've used the maximum number of job slots available on your plan, you won't be able to open a new job unless you archive an active job or upgrade to a plan with more job slots.
If you downgrade your plan and exceed the number of job slots included in that plan at the time of the downgrade, the downgrade will be cancelled. You can view your current job slot allocation on the Plans page within your Homerun account.
Note: With the new plans launched on July 29, 2025, job slots are bundled with employee seats (Homerun HR) in one plan (Starter, Core, Plus). This makes it easier to scale your hiring alongside your team growth. If you're on a legacy plan (like Light or Basic), you’ll continue with your current setup unless you switch. You can read more about this in the update on our website.
Employee seats (Homerun HR)
Employee seats represent the number of staff that you can have an active account in Homerun HR. Each paid plan includes a set number of seats: Starter includes 10 employee seats, Core includes 25 employee seats, and Plus 50 or more employee seats.
Employee seats are included in every plan, regardless of whether you primarily use Homerun for ATS or HR purposes. Similarly, job slots are included even if you don't actively use the hiring features.
When you've used the maximum number of employee seats available on your plan, you won't be able to add new team members unless you remove an existing user or upgrade to a plan with more seats. If you downgrade your plan and exceed the number of employee seats included in that plan, the downgrade will be cancelled.
What is a candidate limit?
Note: Only the free 15-day trial has a limit of 100 candidates. All paid plans (Starter, Core, Plus) offer unlimited candidates.
During your trial period you can run into the candidate limit of 100 candidates. This includes candidates in both active and inactive jobs, those unassigned to any job, and candidates in your talent pool.
What happens when I reach my candidate limit?
When you reach 80% of your candidate limit during the trial, a warning notification will appear in Homerun and you'll receive an email. This helps ensure you don’t miss any applications.
Once you've reached your limit, candidates will no longer be able to apply. The 'Apply now' button on your job posts will change to 'Applications closed'.
What should I do when I reach my candidate limit?
You can either delete candidates to free up space or pick a paid plan to remove candidate limits entirely. All paid plans offer unlimited applications. Once you upgrade, hiring resumes immediately.
Email limit
During the trial period, you cannot send real emails. However, you can send demo emails to test the functionality.
