When you've discovered a candidate isn't a fit for your company or for the job profile, it's best to disqualify them as soon as possible. You can disqualify a single candidate, or disqualify candidates in bulk.

Disqualifying a single candidate

  1. Click on 'Jobs' in the left-hand sidebar to navigate to the job where you need to disqualify a candidate.

  2. Select 'Candidates' in the menu bar at the top.

  3. Click on a candidate to open up their profile.

  4. In the candidate's profile, click the Disqualify icon (displayed as a forbidden sign) in the task bar.

  5. Choose a reason for disqualification (read more about how to create a new disqualify reason).

  6. Decide how you want to notify the candidate: via email, creating a to-do, or no notification.

Notifying the candidate via email
If you want to notify the candidate about being disqualified via email, you can create an email or add an email template. Click 'Send'.

Creating a to-do
If you don't want to notify the candidate about being disqualified just yet, you can create a to-do for yourself or assign it to a colleague. Click 'Create'.

No notification
If you don't want to notify the candidate about being disqualified at all, select 'Do not notify' and click 'Done'.

Note: When you disqualify a candidate, this candidate will be removed from the list of All candidates for the job. The disqualify reason will not be shared with the candidate.

Disqualifying multiple candidates in bulk

It can come in handy to disqualify multiple candidates at once.

  1. Click on 'Jobs' in the left-hand sidebar to navigate to the specific job where you want to disqualify multiple candidates.

  2. Click on 'Candidates' in the menu bar at the top.

  3. Make sure you are using the list view by clicking the icon with three lines and a dot (right next to the icon with a dotted square, which indicates the board view).

  4. Select the candidates you would like to disqualify.

  5. A taskbar appears at the bottom. Click the Disqualify icon. It will appear red when you hover over the icon.

  6. Select a reason for disqualification (read more about how to create a new disqualify reason).

  7. Decide how you want to notify the candidate: via email, creating a to-do, or no notification.
