How to add a source to a candidate

When a candidate begins the hiring process with your company, the candidate has an origin. This shows how the candidate entered the hiring process. This could be either applied (where the candidate filled in your application form), or sourced (where the candidate was manually added). You can enrich the candidate's origin by setting a source. This can tell more about where you found the candidate, or how the candidate has found your job.

For example, if you found a candidate on LinkedIn and encouraged them to apply, you can then change the source to 'LinkedIn' and the origin to 'Sourced', even though the candidate has applied.

Read more about how setting a source and enriching candidate data can help you gain valuable insights into your hiring.

Adding a source to a candidate

  1. Via the sidebar on the left, click on a job opening under 'Your jobs' or head to the 'Jobs' page to navigate to the job where you want to add tags.

  2. Click 'Candidates', next to 'Apply form' at the top.

  3. Click on a candidate to view their candidate profile.

  4. From the candidate profile, scroll down to 'About'.

  5. Click '+ Add source' to add a source and press enter to confirm.

That's it! You've now added a source to this candidate and this will now be displayed in the candidate profile.

Deleting sources from the candidate profile

If you'd like to remove the source, just click the x behind the tag name.

Note: You can always see the original source of the candidates in the Insights. We're working on showing the manually added sources of the candidates as well, we'll keep you posted on that.
