Pause applications instead of close jobs. Build a valuable talent pool that’s ready to apply when you are.

You can pause applications for each active job opening. This feature allows you to build a talent pool, keep candidates informed, and manage your hiring process efficiently.

The benefits of pausing applications

  1. Let candidates find you: People are spending more time on their phones and laptops now. Keep your job postings visible even if you’re not actively hiring, allowing potential candidates to learn about your openings.

  2. Build a talent pool: Even though you’re not ready to hire right now, it’s still smart to build a talent pool. Give candidates the opportunity to share their basic info without requiring them to apply immediately.

  3. Notify candidates when you’re ready: Whenever you decide to resume hiring for your role(s), you can easily notify all interested candidates, making your recruitment process smoother.

Pausing applications is only possible for active jobs, which means it will still be seen as an active job.

How to pause applications

  1. Via the sidebar on the left, click on a job opening under 'Your jobs' or head to the 'Jobs' page to navigate to the job you want to change the hiring stages for.

  2. Click on the gear icon in the top right corner to navigate to the job settings.

  3. Under job settings, click 'Pause applications'.

  4. Turn on the toggle to pause applications for the job.

When you're ready to continue hiring again, simply disable the toggle.

As soon as you pause applications for a job, the 'Apply now' button will be replaced by a Notify me button where talent can sign up to be notified when the hiring for that job resumes.

Candidates

Talent and candidates that have signed up to be notified will be shown in the job overview, just like other candidates. Their origin will be "Signed up" which means they've signed up when applications for that job were paused.

Please note:

  • candidates that sign up to be notified will not receive a confirmation email

  • team members in the hiring team will not receive a notification about a new sign up

  • the settings for data retention period in your account will also be applied to candidates that sign up

  • pausing applications is only possible for active jobs
